Carrall, Robert William Weir


CARRALL, Robert William Weir, doctor, politician (b 2 Feb 1837, Woodstock, ON; d 19 Sept 1879, Woodstock, ON). He received his medical degree from McGill Univ in Montreal in 1859 and served as an army surgeon with the Union forces during the American Civil War. In 1865 he moved west to BC. He settled in NANAIMO, then established a medical practice in BARKERVILLE in 1867. He got involved in politics as a proponent of CONFEDERATION with Canada.
