Warren, Harry Verney


WARREN, Harry Verney, athlete (b 8 Aug 1904, Anacortes, WA; d 14 March 1998). An all-around athlete who participated in CRICKET, RUGBY and FIELD HOCKEY, he won the 100-, 220- and 400-yard sprints at the 1926 BC championships and the 200-yard sprint at the 1927 British Games in London. In 1928 he was named to the Canadian Olympic team as an alternate sprinter and he set an Irish record in winning the 100 m at the 1928 Tailteann Games in Dublin.
