ST MARY RIVER, 117 km, rises in the PURCELL MTS east of KOOTENAY LK and flows southeast through some of the most productive MINING country in BC to its confluence with the KOOTENAY R, opposite historic FORT STEELE. KIMBERLEY and the SULLIVAN MINE lie to the north; the St Eugene SILVER mine overlooked Moyie Lk to the south.
