Midway


MIDWAY, village, pop 621 (2006), is on the KETTLE R just north of the US border about halfway between the ROCKY MTS and the Pacific Ocean and between HOPE and WILD HORSE CREEK on the old DEWDNEY TRAIL. However, the name may refer to the midway at the Chicago World's Fair in 1893, the year the townsite was laid out.
