Confederation League


CONFEDERATION LEAGUE, formed in May 1868 in VICTORIA, was a group of activists in favour of BC's union with Canada. Leading members of the League included Amor DE COSMOS, John ROBSON and Robert BEAVEN, all future PREMIERS. They convened the YALE CONVENTION in Sept 1868 to promote the idea, along with responsible government and freer trade with the US.
