Coat of Arms


COAT OF ARMS for BC features a central shield flanked by 2 supporters above a scrolled motto. It was designed by Rev Arthur Beanlands, adopted in 1895 and confirmed by King Edward VII on 31 Mar 1906. The shield shows a Union Jack, below which 3 wavy bars signify the Pacific Ocean and a setting sun signifies BC's location as the most westerly province.
