WEBB, Phyllis, writer (b 8 Apr 1927, Victoria). After attending UBC in the late 1940s, she left the province and lived for 2 decades in eastern Canada, the US and Europe. During a stint as a radio broadcaster for the CBC in Toronto, she originated the long-running program Ideas. She returned to BC in 1969 and has lived on SALTSPRING ISLAND ever since.
