Waiatt Bay

WAIATT BAY, 30 km north of CAMPBELL RIVER at the north end of QUADRA ISLAND, is a former FISHING and LOGGING settlement and steamship port of call. It had a post office, spelled Wyatt Bay, from 1913 to 1946. Octopus Islands MARINE PARK is located here. The name is a Kwakwala (see KWAKWAKA'WAKW) word meaning "where there is herring spawn."
