TULLY, John Patrick "Jack," oceanographer (b 29 Nov 1906, Brandon, MB; d 19 May 1987, Nanaimo). After graduating from the Univ of Manitoba in 1931 he began his career at the PACIFIC BIOLOGICAL STATION in NANAIMO. He was a founding member of the Pacific Oceanographic Group, which gathered basic information about BC's coast and the north Pacific generally.
