ROBSON, Jim, sports broadcaster (b 17 Jan 1935). He stepped right out of MAPLE RIDGE secondary school and into sports BROADCASTING at CJAV in PORT ALBERNI in 1952. When Bill Stephenson left VANCOUVER's CKWX in 1960, Robson took his place as the voice of the VANCOUVER CANUCKS of HOCKEY and the Vancouver Mounties of BASEBALL. In 1961 he did play-by-play for all 230 games played by the Mounties, Canucks and the BC LIONS, as well as the BC high school boys BASKETBALL championship, the BC Open GOLF...
