BROADCASTING, COMMERCIAL began in BC with the licensing of the first radio stations in Mar 1922.

Early Radio

The first 3 stations to go on air were all in VANCOUVER and all owned by NEWSPAPERS: CJCE, which evolved over the years into CFUN, was owned by the VANCOUVER SUN and the Sprott-Shaw School of Commerce; CKCD, owned by the PROVINCE; and CFYC, owned by the World.
