Porteau Cove

PORTEAU COVE is a provincial MARINE PARK on the east side of HOWE SOUND 24 km north of HORSESHOE BAY. Around 1900 it was the site of a gravel pit, then developed as a resort, Glen Eden, for summer visitors from VANCOUVER. There is a campsite and pier and several vessels have been sunk offshore to form an artificial reef, making it a popular spot for diving.
