Peachland


PEACHLAND, district municipality, pop 4,883 (2006), adjoins the west side of OKANAGAN LK between PENTICTON and KELOWNA. It was founded in 1897 as the first of several OKANAGAN VALLEY settlement schemes proposed by John Moore ROBINSON, a promoter. Robinson actually was seeking GOLD when he tasted the local peaches and realized the agricultural potential of the area.
