O'Reilly, Peter


O'REILLY, Peter, public servant (b 27 Mar 1828, Ince, England; d 3 Sept 1905, Victoria). He was raised in Ireland, where he served in the revenue police before moving to BC in 1858. He was appointed a magistrate on his arrival and also served as high sheriff of the mainland colony until 1866 (see COLONIAL GOVERNMENT).
