Knights of Labor


KNIGHTS OF LABOR was an early labour organization that originated in Philadelphia in 1869. It arrived in BC at the end of 1883; the first local was formed in NANAIMO. Locals subsequently were founded in several places across the province and membership peaked at about 450, mainly miners and rail workers.
