Idaho Peak Meadows

IDAHO PEAK MEADOWS are alpine meadows 15 km east of NEW DENVER near the ghost town of SANDON in the SELKIRK MTS. They are considered one of the best places in BC to view mountain WILDFLOWERS. The view from the lookout takes in a spectacular vista of SLOCAN LK and the VALHALLA MTS. SILVER–lead ore was found on Idaho Peak (el. 2,280 m) in 1891, causing frenzied MINING activity until about 1910.
