Halfmoon Bay


HALFMOON BAY, pop 358, is a small waterfront community on the SUNSHINE COAST, 10 km north of SECHELT. Established in the mid-1890s, it was originally named Welcome Pass after the channel that separates the bay from a group of offshore islands. Well protected by the largest of these, S THORMANBY ISLAND, it offers good anchorage and a variety of services to passing boaters.
