GIBSON, George S., sculptor (b 1867, Edinburgh, Scotland; d 1942, Shawnigan Lk). He and Charles MAREGA were among BC's major architectural sculptors from 1910 to 1940. After apprenticing in his native Scotland, he moved to New York in the early 1890s. He returned to Edinburgh to marry and in 1908 brought his family to NELSON.
