Cowan, George


COWAN, George, lawyer, politician (b 1858, Watford, ON; d 25 Sept 1935, Vancouver). After graduating from the Univ of Toronto and Osgoode Hall, he moved west in 1893 to VANCOUVER and established a law practice. While acting as city solicitor, he was also active in the CONSERVATIVE PARTY and served one term (1908–11) as Vancouver's MP in Ottawa.
