Columbia Basin Trust


COLUMBIA BASIN TRUST is a provincial Crown Corporation created in 1995 to bring some of the revenue from sales of HYDROELECTRIC power on the COLUMBIA R back into the W KOOTENAY (see COLUMBIA RIVER TREATY). The trust is governed by a 12-person board made up of residents of the region; their mandate is to invest in economic and ENVIRONMENTAL developments in the basin.
