CLEMENT, Douglas Bruce "Doug," athlete, sports medicine pioneer (b 15 July 1933, Montreal). He was an outstanding track athlete while growing up in VANCOUVER and later at the Univ of Oregon and UBC. He took part in the 1952 and 1956 Olympics with the Canadian track team and was a member of the team that won a silver medal in the 4 x 440 relay at the 1954 British Empire Games (see BRITISH EMPIRE AND COMMONWEALTH GAMES) in Vancouver.
