CHAMBERLIN, James Arthur, aerospace designer (b 23 May 1915, Kamloops; d 8 Mar 1981, Houston, TX). After a childhood in KAMLOOPS, SUMMERLAND and VICTORIA, he moved with his family to Toronto. A graduate engineer from the Univ of Toronto and the Imperial College of Science and Technology in London, England, he joined Avro Canada, where he became chief technical designer on the ill-fated and controversial CF-105 Avro Arrow.
