Castillou, Henry


CASTILLOU, Henry, jurist (b 1896, Merritt; d Apr 1967). He was born on his family's Coldwater Ranch and was running his own packtrain when he was 17 years old, but he took up law as a profession. As one of the first lawyers in BC to work on ABORIGINAL RIGHTS, he was advisor to the N American Indian Brotherhood and represented BC bands before the Indian Claims Commission.
