Carmanah Valley


CARMANAH VALLEY  () , on the west side of VANCOUVER ISLAND, is named for Carmanah Crk, which crosses the WEST COAST TRAIL just south of NITINAT LAKE. The name comes from a former Ditidaht (see NUU-CHAH-NULTH) village at the creek mouth and means "canoe landing in front."
