Spruce


SPRUCE is a coniferous tree occurring in BC in 4 types. White spruce (Picea glauca) inhabits most of the Interior in mixed stands with other tree species. Sitka spruce (P. sitchensis) grows in a narrow band along the coast, where it is very tolerant of fog and salt spray.
