Brigade Lake

BRIGADE LAKE is in the heart of a ranching district (see CATTLE INDUSTRY), 20 km south of KAMLOOPS. Because there was good pasturage for horses there, the lake became the first camping spot south of Kamloops on the HBC's 19th-century FUR BRIGADE trail to HOPE, hence the name.
