BC MILLS TIMBER & TRADING CO was organized in 1889 by the pioneer lumberman John HENDRY. He combined his operations at NEW WESTMINSTER with the HASTINGS MILL on the VANCOUVER waterfront and later the MOODYVILLE SAWMILL CO across BURRARD INLET at N VANCOUVER to create what soon became the largest lumber manufacturer in BC.
