Witherby Point


Witherby Point (49˚29'00" 123˚28'00" W side of Howe Sd, N of Gibsons, NW of Vancouver). After Percival Witherby, who received a Crown grant for land at this location in 1897. According to a record at BC’s Geographical Names Office, he was a talented man, an excellent writer and speaker, and a good linguist, who spoke and read French, Spanish, Portuguese and German fluently.
