Watun River


Watun River (53˚54'00" 132˚05'00" Flows NW into Masset Sd, Graham I, QCI). An early settlement, complete with a church and school, was established at the mouth of this river by J B McDonald, a Roman Catholic priest, in 1912. It was originally known as Woden R (a version of the Haida name Watun), and also as the Holy City because of its religious orientation.
