Watt Point


Watt Point (48˚20'00" 123˚33'00" S side of Pedder Bay, S tip of Vancouver I). Dr Alfred Tennyson Watt (1868–1913), born at Meaford, Ont, was in charge of the quarantine station at nearby William Head, 1897–1913. He had graduated from Univ of Toronto in 1890 and practised medicine at Victoria, becoming secretary to the provincial board of health and making important contributions to the Health Act and to public health work in BC.
