Spanish Bank


Spanish Bank (49˚17'00" 123˚13'00" SW side of Burrard Inlet at Vancouver, just W of English Bay). This is where Capt George Vancouver, much to his surprise, encountered the Spanish naval vessels Sutil and Mexicana, under Dionisio Alcalá-Galiano and Cayetano Valdés, in June 1792.
