Sockeye Point


Sockeye Point (49˚41'00" 123˚50'00" S entrance to Narrows Inlet, E side of Sechelt Inlet, NW of Vancouver). The origins of this First Nation word are difficult to pin down, as many different Salishan languages and dialects have a word for this treasured species of salmon (Oncorhynchus nerka).
