Simonds Group


Simonds Group (51˚57'00" 128˚17'00" W of McNaughton Group, Queens Sd, SW of Bella Bella). Named in 1944 by the hydrographic service for Lt Gen Guy Granville Simonds, CB, CBE, DSO (1903–74), a Canadian military leader in WWII. He was born in England and immigrated with his family to Victoria in 1912.
