Sheppard Point


Sheppard Point (48˚34'00" 123˚31'00" W side of Saanich Inlet, S of Bamberton, NW of Victoria). Named after Henry S Sheppard, who came to the Saanich district from the US about 1860 and built one of BC’s earliest sawmills, at Mill Bay, just N of this location. At the time, it was the only mill between Nanaimo and Esquimalt.
