Sheldens Bay


Sheldens Bay (53˚09'00" 131˚45'00" S of Copper Bay, NW side of Moresby I, QCI). Sandspit-area pioneers Capt Charles Richard Sheldon (1859–1915) and his wife built a cabin at this site and homesteaded in the early 1900s. They received a Crown grant for their land in 1913. The geographical name is a spelling error.
