Shaffer Point


Shaffer Point (51˚04'00" 127˚07'00" N side of Seymour Inlet, N of Queen Charlotte Str, NE of Port Hardy). Chief Motor Mechanic Thomas Winfield Shaffer of the RCNR died in an accident at Steveston on Feb 5, 1941, aged 47. He was born in Montana and lived at Victoria before moving to Steveston. Shaffer, who married Ellen Jones at Vancouver in 1925, was a mining engineer and also well known on the W coast as a master mechanic on fishing vessels. He is buried at Burnaby (Ocean View) Burial Park....
