Sargison Reef


Sargison Reef (52˚12'00" 131˚21'00" In Flamingo Inlet, S of Sperm Bay, S end of Moresby I, QCI). Named by the hydrographic service in 1963 after Capt G Sargison, who was master of the whaling vessel Green, based at Rose Hbr, in 1929. George Stanley Sargison (b 1896) was the son of Victoria accountant and newspaper owner Albert Sargison (see Sargison Bank).
