Sargeant Bay


Sargeant Bay (49˚28'00" 123˚51'00" S end of Sechelt Peninsula, W of Trail Bay, Str of Georgia, NW of Vancouver). This name is a spelling error, as the bay commemorates Frederick Sargent, who pre-empted land here in 1887 and received a Crown grant for his homestead in 1892. The area around the bay was logged, and a steam-powered sawmill located by the shore.
