Sangster Point


Sangster Point (52˚59'00" 132˚11'00" E tip of Hibben I, Kuper Inlet, NW side of Moresby I, QCI). Lt James Sangster was a Royal Marines officer who served on the Pacific Station aboard HMS Thetis, under Capt Augustus Kuper, 1851–53. Kuper named this feature in 1852 while the Thetis was in the QCI maintaining the peace after a short-lived gold rush.
