Salubrious Bay

Salubrious Bay (50˚02'00" 124˚44'00" S end of Gifford Peninsula, S of Desolation Sd, NW of Powell R). This name apparently got its start when a government climate chart referred to the area as “salubrious.” The word stuck, became locally established and was submitted as an official name by local resident G B Goudriaan in 1981. “Salubrious” means “conducive or favourable to good health.”
