Prowse Point


Prowse Point (49˚29'00" 124˚21'00" S side of False Bay, Lasqueti I, Str of Georgia). Richard Prowse, a former cpl in the Royal Marines, pre-empted land on Lasqueti I in 1879 and 1884, receiving Crown grants in 1884 and 1889. He had moved to the island prior to 1875, making him one of its very first European settlers.
