Port Clements


Port Clements (53˚41'00" 132˚11'00" E side of Masset Inlet, Graham I, QCI). The land at this location was pre-empted in 1908 by Elias James Tingley (1881–1964), who was trying to establish a townsite on Masset Inlet. At first he called his development Queenstown, a name suggested by James Martin, who had agreed to establish a general store at the new community and who hailed from Queenstown, Ireland (now known as Cobh).
