Point Ash


Point Ash (48˚21'00" 123˚34'00" W end of Pedder Bay, S tip of Vancouver I). Dr John Ash (1821–86), a pioneer Victoria physician, came to Victoria from England in 1862 and acquired large parcels of property in this area in 1863. His plan to build a dock in Pedder Bay and connect the bay by canal to Matheson Lk did not come to fruition, though he did construct an expensive stone dam on the lake.
