Pinder Rock


Pinder Rock (48˚55'00" 125˚23'00" Loudoun Channel, W of Peacock Channel, Barkley Sd, W side of Vancouver I). Civil engineer William George Pinder (1850–1936) pre-empted land on the W side of Barkley Sd in 1892. He had arrived in Victoria from England in 1871 and joined a CPR survey crew laying out the railroad along the Thompson R between the Fraser R and Shuswap Lk.
