Pillar Bay


Pillar Bay (54˚09'00" 132˚55'00" N side of Graham I, just E of Parry Passage, QCI), Pillar Rock (54˚09'00" 132˚53'00" E end of Pillar Bay). Geologist George Mercer Dawson named Pillar Rk, a 29-m-high pinnacle of conglomerate and sandstone, topped with trees and salal, in 1878. Dawson gave its Haida name as Hla-tad-zo-woh. The bay is named after the rock. D
