Palliser Rock


Palliser Rock (49˚37'00" 124˚50'00" N of Denman I, Str of Georgia). Rear Adm Henry St Ledger Bury Palliser (d 1907) was cdr-in-chief on the RN’s Pacific Station, based at Esquimalt, 1896–99. His flagship was the cruiser Imperieuse, under Capt Charles Adair. Palliser entered the RN in 1852 and saw service as a junior officer in the Crimean War.
