Page Point (49˚01'00" 123˚49'00" E side of Ladysmith Hbr, SE of Nanaimo, SE side of Vancouver I). Fisherman and farmer David Page (1836–1918), from England, pre-empted land on Ladysmith Hbr in the 1870s and received a Crown grant in 1885. His holdings were rich in native oysters (Oyster Hbr was the old name for Ladysmith Hbr), and Page became one of BC’s first cultivators and harvesters of the tasty bivalve.
