Page Passage


Page Passage (48˚40'50" 123˚23'50" Separates Johnson It and Fernie I from Kolb It and Kamaree It, off NE end of Saanich Peninsula, N of Sidney). William Page (1839–98), who received a Crown grant for land at N Saanich in 1876, was one of the area’s earliest settlers. He married Emma (b about 1833), a First Nation woman, farmed and raised a family. Apparently Page had come out to Victoria as an HBC employee and worked at first as a shepherd and sheep shearer.
