Orlebar Point


Orlebar Point (49˚12'00" 123˚49'00" N tip of Gabriola I, Gulf Is). Formerly known as Berry Point (and still known locally by that name) but renamed by the hydrographic service in 1945 after Lt Cdr Vere Bernard Orlebar, who commanded the RN gunboat Rocket on the Pacific Station, 1879–82. He had earlier served as a lt on HMS Chanticleer.
