Noble Islets


Noble Islets (50˚49'00" 127˚35'00" S of Hurst I, E end of Goletas Channel, off N end of Vancouver I, NW of Port Hardy). Edward Rothwell Noble (d 1877) arrived on the BC coast in 1863 as a midshipman aboard HMS Sutlej, the flagship of Rear Adm John Kingcome. He served temporarily on the Beaver, the historic HBC paddle steamer that was hired by the RN as a survey vessel, under Lt Daniel Pender. Noble was promoted to lt in 1870 and retired in 1876. The islets were named by Lt Pender in 1864....
